After the break of the Games due to Corona, things are back on track once again. The great news for Indian football has come to light between the start of the Games worldwide. The Confederation of Asian Football (AFC) has given India the rights to host the 2022 Women's Asian Cup for the first time since 1979.

This was decided at the AFC Women's Football Committee meeting. Earlier in February, the AFC Women's Football Committee recommended hosting India.
In a letter to the All India Football Federation, AFO Secretary General, Dato Windsor John wrote, "The committee has decided to give hosting rights to the All India Football Federation for the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2022 final."
The tournament will be held in the middle of the year 2022, during which a total of 12 teams will participate. After becoming the organizer country, India has qualified for the tournament on its own. The tournament will also serve as a qualification tournament for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Significantly, when the tournament was held in India in 1979, the hosts were runners-up.

Let us know that India has also hosted the AFC Under-16 Championship in 2016 and the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2017 and is ready to host the FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup in 2021.
